Hey, I’m Pia — a UI/UX Designer based in the Philippines.

I have 10+ years of experience as a graphic designer and studied Multimedia Arts and Sciences, specialized in Graphic Design. I'm a generalist designer who is now focusing on User Experience Design.

In the early stages of my career, I worked as a graphic designer across several industries, including large international corporations like HP and BCI Central. I also gained agency experience working with Andzen and ManyPixels.

As a millennial, I’ve witnessed the rapid evolution of the digital world — from desktop-first designs to mobile-first experiences. This shift sparked my interest in how design shapes user behavior. Throughout my journey, I’ve seen how a good (or bad) user experience can make or break a product’s impression.

I'm a highly empathetic person. Friends often say they feel safe confiding in me. This ability to listen deeply helps me as a UX designer — allowing me to understand user needs, motivations, and behaviors. These insights directly inform my design decisions.

In one project, I discovered through user research that long video lessons were a major pain point for learners. Most users were watching content during breaks or free time. We redesigned the video player into shorter, more digestible segments. This led to increased engagement and helped students complete their lessons on time.

Outside of work, I volunteer with a non-profit that cares for community cats — helping with rescue, spay/neuter efforts, and adoption. I design and sell cat themed merchandise (shirts, totes, stickers) to raise funds, and even created a case study app to support volunteers in managing cat care activities. I keep a balanced lifestyle by journaling and weightlifting.
